Blueberries, according to the authors of health book Superfoods, are a 'flagship' food in the fruit category. Dr Steven Pratt and Kathy Matthews rank blueberries as one of the major superfoods. This is mostly attributable to the health and anti-ageing benefits of blueberries, due to their high antioxidant content.
