RTE reopens redundancy scheme

RTE has re-opened its voluntary redundancy and early retirement schemes in a bid to secure further job reductions.

Last May, RTE said it was seeking 200 redundancies and received 264 expressions of interest. So far it has approved 120 departures, and is ready to approve a further 50.

The extended scheme will be open to eligible applicants until October 12th.
