RTE pensioners to get legal opinion on entitlements cut claim

RTE pensioners are being asked to contribute to a fighting fund to pay for a legal opinion on what they claim is a cut in their pension entitlements.

RTE pensioners are being asked to contribute to a fighting fund to pay for a legal opinion on what they claim is a cut in their pension entitlements.

The RTE Pensioners Association Committee claims that the Transformation Agreement, which saw RTE slash costs and return to profitability, broke the traditional link between their pensions and RTE salaries.

It is understood that, while staff were given an 8 per cent increase in 2003,pensioners received 5 per cent.
