Profits at RTE's commercial and publishing division trebled to €4 million last year.
RTE Commercial Enterprises, which runs the RTE Guide, its website and a range of other commercial spin-offs, posted profits of €4 million in 2012, up from €1.3 million in 2011.
The surge in profits was driven by significant cost-cutting, with the national broadcaster's commercial and publishing wing pushing down operating costs by more than €3 million.
