RPA holds back payment over Luas construction problems

The Railway Procurement Agency (RPA) is not yet ready to sign off on a 50-year warranty with the builders of the Luas - more than a year after the €775 million Dublin tram system opened.

A snag list involving a wide range of construction items will mean that the joint venture bui lder of the Luas, AMB, will not be paid its final multimillion euro instalment for some time.

According to sources, the builders had been considering whether to sue the RPA in recent weeks.
