The issue of the validity of Anglican orders, which lies at the centre of the Drogheda Mass controversy, is an extraordinarily complex and sensitive one. It deserves to be approached with urgency, but in a Christ-like manner.
In colloquial Hiberno-English, ‘ignorant’ has two usages: ‘lacking in information’ and ‘oafishly rude’.
Unless he is indulging in irony, Eric Conway’s letter (23/4/06), provides an excellent example of both.
