Row brews over controversial fish farm licences

Taoiseach Enda Kenny and Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney held a private meeting earlier this year with a company seeking to obtain more fish farm licences here.

According to minutes of the meeting, Marine Harvest complained that lengthy delays in processing applications for salmon farm licences were causing “uncertainty” for it.

The company is still awaiting a personal decision by Coveney on its application for a salmon farm at Shot Head in Bantry Bay...
