Getting to and from work just gets dearer, but there are ways - from canny fuel shopping to discount tickets to subsidised bikes - to ease the burden, writes Emma Kennedy.

Just last week, the National Transport Authority announced that it had commissioned Millward Brown to conduct a survey of people's day-to-day travel and commuting behaviour.
