Roomier Renault Clio tops in Europe

Last month, the Renault Clio III was voted European Car of the Year 2006, narrowly beating the Volkswagen Passat by five points.

Last month, the Renault Clio III was voted European Car of the Year 2006, narrowly beating the Volkswagen Passat by five points.

Despite its win, the market reaction to Renault's decision to increase its size has been decidedly mixed. Now that it's so much larger, the Clio is perhaps a less practical option as a car for densely trafficked cities.

On the upside, the larger size means more room inside.
