There are no plans for Peter Robinson to relinquish the DUP leadership. That's what the party tells us. Reports to the contrary which suggest an autumn move to the House of Lords are ''nonsense. Yet the speculation continues.

Robinson has been party leader for just over six years now. He assumed control from Ian Paisley in a bloodless coup back in 2008. Bloodless, but bitter.
