Excessive charges for using mobile phones abroad could soon be in the past, as the European Commission looks set to propose a new regulation on roaming. The commission’s website of international roaming charges shows that the price for a standard four-minute call has remained at the same high level across Europe since September last year and in some cases increased, despite warnings from the commission to the industry.
