Sligo, Laois and Roscommon are the three worst counties in the country for using their own resources to maintain deteriorating local roads, according to figures obtained by *The Sunday Business Post*.

Transport minister Leo Varadkar recently hit out at counties that refused to pay a fair share of their own resources towards the upkeep of roads, but refused to name the worst offenders. Each county is expected to cover about a fifth of the cost...
