Two rival consortiums of poultry suppliers to Castlemahon Food Products are mounting rival bids to buy the €80 million Limerick poultry company out of liquidation.

The two groups have held meetings with potential backers in recent days and are expected to lodge formal bids over the coming ten days. If successful, the move could save the jobs of most of the company’s 300 employees.
