So are we really living in Rip-Off Ireland? The detailed research undertaken by the Consumer Strategy Group suggests that we are - in some areas at least.

Behind all the analysis and debate, one piece of research tells the story. An examination of the price of 40 products shows that their cost in Ireland is €127.08, compared to €104.54 in the eurozone on average, a gap of some 21.5 per cent.
