An improved revenue performance and an ongoing cost reduction program meant Aer Lingus had a better summer in 2011 than it did in 2010, the airline has said in a trading statement.

Yield per passenger for the key summer months of July and August increased by 4.6 per cent compared to the same months in 2010. Passenger volumes for July and August 2011 were up by 1.4 per cent compared to the same period in 2010. Year...
