Almost 200 high net worth individuals are using an elaborate offshore tax avoidance scheme to wipe massive sums off their tax bills, *The Sunday Business Post* has learned.

A syndicate of 188 individuals is using the intricate tax scheme, which centres on a company registered in a tax haven.

The scheme is currently the subject of a wide-ranging investigation by the Revenue Commissioners.
