Surge in declarations of undervalution of properties expected, writes Emma Kennedy.
More than 2,000 property owners have admitted to the tax authorities that they undervalued their house for property tax purposes, according to new figures from the Revenue Commissioners.
A further surge in declarations of undervalution is now expected before the March 31 deadline, as homeowners scramble to avoid hefty penalties.
