The latest planning application for the controversial Sprucefield site near Lisburn, where the upmarket department store John Lewis plans to open its first Irish store, has received a cautious welcome from local retailers.

Last week the site’s developers Westfield submitted plans for a revised scheme on the Sprucefield site.
