Retail sales volume rises 3% in a year

The volume of retail sales in December 2013 was up 3 per cent compared to the same month in 2012, according to the latest data from the Central Statistics Office.

The volume of retail sales in December 2013 was up 3 per cent compared to the same month in 2012, according to the latest data from the Central Statistics Office.

The new figures showed an increase of 0.6 per cent in retail sales compared to November.

Excluding the motor trade, there was an increase of 1.4 per cent in December retail sales compared with November 2013, with the annual figure also at 3 per cent.
