Retail sales increase 1.1% as prices also rise

Retail sales showed a year on year increase of 1.1 per cent, excluding the motor trade, according to the Central Statistics Office.

Consumer prices in June, as measured by the Consumer Price Index, increased by 0.1 per cent.

Retail sales showed a year on year increase of 1.1 per cent, excluding the motor trade, according to the Central Statistics Office.

The overall volume of retail sales decreased by 1.6 per cent in June 2013 when compared with May 2013 and there was a decrease of 1.5 per cent in the annual figure.
