Retail rent rebound?

A study suggests rents have bottomed out in the suburbs, and will bounce back dramatically in prime locations

Retail properties on Grafton Street are seeing larger rental increases than in other shopping areas

Prime Dublin retail rents could rise by 45 per cent to €7,233 per square metre over the four years to the end of 2018 according to forecasts from CBRE. However, there are signs that many retail areas have yet to see any rent increases despite the economic recovery.

In contrast, research by Savills forecasts that Grafton Street retail rents could increase by 16.5 per cent in the 18 months to the end of next year.
