Retail recovery reaches the regions

Expansion announcements by a number of retail chains have resulted in increased demand for shop space across the country.

The recovery in retail property is spreading to regional urban markets, although its pace was slower than in the office and industrial sectors during the first quarter of the year, according to two new surveys.

A CBRE survey revealed reduced vacancy rates in prime regional high streets as well as expansions by a number of retail chains.
