Retail group welcomes High Court ruling on Bewley's

“Upward-only rent reviews have put immense pressure on the sector," says Retail Ireland director.

Retail Ireland, the Ibec group for the retail sector, has welcomed the High Court ruling that rent payable by Bewley's on Grafton Street in Dublin should fall in line with market value.

Stephen Lynam, Retail Ireland director, also said that many retailers would be examining their own leases to see if they could benefit from a similar judgement.
