Restructuring amid losses for EP Mooney

EP Mooney, the major Dublin car dealership, carried out a ‘‘significant restructuring’’ last year, amid mounting losses caused by the economic downturn and falling consumer spending.

The family-owned Nissan dealership made a pre-tax loss of €1.1million in 2007, on top of a loss of €1.7 million in 2006.I t had turnover of €107.7 million in 2007 from its range of interests, which include car dealerships, investment properties and a fitness centre.

According to accounts, the 2008 restructuring should have a ‘‘positive effect on administration, compliance, and organisational efficiency’’.
