Resort owners tried to sell to Far East family

The owners of Mount Wolseley sought to sell the €50 million resort to the Hong Kong based Kang family earlier this year, new court papers have revealed.

Mount Wolseley, the golf resort in Co Carlow, has bank debts of €60 million.

The owners of Mount Wolseley, the insolvent golf and hotel complex in Co Carlow, sought to sell the €50 million resort to the Hong Kong based Kang family earlier this year, new court papers have revealed.

The owners, Donal and Breda Morrissey, hired Savills to market the resort, with 19 potential buyers making inquiries. Two expressed formal interest.
