Residential property sales finally record an upturn

The Residential Property Price Register has shown an overall upward trend, with Dublin sales mainly accounting for the rise, writes Michelle Devane.

More than €1.9 billion-worth of residential property has been sold across the country since the start of the year, up 5.5 per cent on the same period last year, according to analysis by *The Sunday Business Post*.

The number of sales of houses and apartments has also increased, albeit slightly. Analysis of the data in the Residential Property Price Register shows that 9,738 houses changed hands between the start of January and the end of June,...
