Repak meets targets despite cuts

The industry-funded recycling organisation Repak is currently meeting all of Ireland’s EU Packaging Recycling targets, despite having only 60 per cent of the necessary funding, according to chief executive Andrew Hetherington.

The industry-funded recycling organisation Repak is currently meeting all of Ireland’s EU Packaging Recycling targets, despite having only 60 per cent of the necessary funding, according to chief executive Andrew Hetherington.

Repak has about 2,200 member companies. ‘‘That’s still only about 60 per cent of the companies obligated,” said Hetherington. ‘‘Although you’ll never get to 100 per cent, we’d like to see it increased.”
