Repair work under way at K Club
Golfers will not see the K Club returned to its former glory until next spring following the damage done to the course during the Ryder Cup.
Repairing the K Club golf course at Straffan, Co Kildare, following the heavy rain and hundreds of thousands of spectators, last month will cost €200,000.
Since the tournament ended on September 24, 30,000 square metres of sod have been re-laid at the course. Some 25 people have been employed on a daily basis to carry out this work. It is expected another 20,000 square metres of sod will be put down in the next fortnight.
