The early release of AVC pension funds could generate €1.24 billion for the Exchequer, a new report from IBEC has said, helping to kickstart the domestic economy and avoid the need for tax increases.

The business lobby group said allowing people to access their additional voluntary contributions (AVCs) could result in an immediate Exchequer windfall of €600 million.
