Reilly urged to publish abortion guidelines

Health Minister Dr James Reilly is being urged to finally publish the clinical guidelines for the new abortion legislation.

The guidelines for how doctors should implement the law are not in place even though it came into force four months ago.

It has also emerged that the details on how many abortions have been carried out when a mother's life is at risk will not be publicly revealed until June next year.
