Shane Reihill was joint managing director of his family’s oil distribution business, Tedcastles, until 2001, when he and his father Frank Reihill were bought out of the company. Tedcastles is now owned outright by John Reihill, Shane’s uncle and Frank’s brother.

According to its most recent accounts, Tedcastles had turnover of €498 million in the year to the end of March 2003 and made a profit of €2.8 million. It...
