Regency rosewood library table from a Dutch original on sale at Bonham’s

Lot has an estimate of €190,000 to €250,000

A Regency rosewood, ebony and brass inlaid and mounted parcel gilt library table (pictured), believed to have been acquired for Tyrone House, Co Galway, by Christopher St George, will go under the hammer at Bonham’s this week, with an estimate of €190,000-€250,000.

The St George family legacy includes the Galway Races, the Galway Oyster beds, and William Orpen’s portraits of Evelyn St George and her daughters, considered masterpieces of their genre....
