BT decision hits at the very fibre of broadband

The future of Irish broadband looks bleak. Last week, BT ‘transferred’ 84,000 of its home broadband and phone customers to Vodafone. In doing so, it recommitted itself to unbundling ancient copper exchanges to provide comparatively slow broadband services for the next seven years.
