Our sector needs more people with higher disposable income if recovery is to continue and retail sales are to increase, writes Jacqui Marsh.

As retailers, we are delighted that this year's budget is to be announced early - it will mean a Christmas free of the ''budget blues''.

This little country of ours is making progress, we are back on the bond markets and, as a nation, we are no longer in bailout territory. This all signals progress and we need this week's budget to enable further growth and recovery.
