Thirteen paintings by Rasher, a 28-year-old artist from Bray in Wicklow, will be previewed at the National Gallery in Dublin this week, ahead of exhibitions in Galway and Los Angeles.

The paintings include five pieces commissioned by whiskey maker Jameson.

Rasher, whose real name is Mark Kavanagh, said he was influenced by artists ranging from Caravaggio to Salvador Dali, to paint colourful, vibrant pieces, some as large as seven feet by five feet.
