Radio Kerry, which completed the acquisition of Shannonside Radio last week, plans to take control of almost 18 per cent of the commercial radio market over the next five years, its chief executive Paul Byrne has said.

The purchase has put Radio Kerry's share of the commercial radio market at 11 per cent, according to figures from the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI). The maximum share of the market any one company can hold is 17.9...
