Communications Minister Pat Rabbitte has said he would prefer to have a vote on the fiscal pact before the summer break.
He was commenting on a report today that said some ministers wanted the referendum delayed until the autumn.
Speaking on RTE's Morning Ireland, Rabbitte said no decision had been taken on this matter but his preference would be for a vote before the summer.
