Rabbitte starts 6-week consultation on broadcast charge

UPDATE: Communications Minister Pat Rabbitte has started a six-week consultation on the new Public Service Broadcasting Charge, which will replace the television licence.

Communications Minister Pat Rabbitte has started a six-week consultation phase to discuss the new household-based Public Service Broadcasting Charge, which is set to replace the television licence.

"Replacing the current licencing system with the PSB Charge will ensure an efficient and sustainable funding model for this public service into the future," he said.
