Rabbitte launches tender for new broadband plan

The Minister for Communications, Pat Rabbitte, has issued a tender for personnel to plan the government's 30Mbs national broadband plan.

The Minister for Communications, Pat Rabbitte, has issued a tender for personnel to plan the government's 30Mbs national broadband plan.

According to a statement from the Department Of Communications, the consultants are being sought to identify parts of the country where the commercial market will not be investing in high speed broadband.

They will also assist in the negotiation of a commercial agreement whereby the State will incentivise one or more telecoms companies to roll...
