Rabbitte: government open to Croke Park alternatives

Communications minister Pat Rabbitte said the government was open to compromise on Croke Park II although he said the need to shave €300 million off the public sector pay bill remained.

Communications minister Pat Rabbitte said the government was open to compromise on Croke Park II although he said the need to shave €300 million off the public sector pay bill remained.

Speaking on RTE's Morning Ireland programme, Rabbitte said: "There are always ways, in industrial relations, where you can tweak things this way or tweak things that way ... government is amenable to alternative suggestions."
