Quinn family will fight bid to defer €2.3bn legal action

The Quinn family is resisting attempts by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to have its €2.3 billion court action against Anglo Irish Bank deferred pending the outcome of criminal proceedings against three former executives of the bank.

The family will ask the High Court later this month to dismiss an application, arguing that the commercial dispute with the bank needs to be dealt with urgently as it affects other legal battles with the bank's...
