Quinn Direct in High Court over claim

The Quinn Group, which is owned by billionaire businessman Sean Quinn, is at the centre of a multi-million euro court dispute over an insurance compensation claim.

Murray Timber Products, one of the country’s largest sawmills, has launched a High Court case against the Quinn Group, claiming that its insurance subsidiary is not offering sufficient compensation for a large claim.

The timber company is claiming that Quinn Direct was the primary insurer of its headquarters at Ballygar, Co Galway.

The premises were severely damaged by a major fire last year, and the company lodged a claim shortly afterwards.
