Queen of Paraguay's Cork home for €20,000

A Cork house, believed to be where Eliza Lynch was raised, is now up for auction, writes Donal Buckley.

The reputed home of the former Queen of Paraguay, Eliza Alicia Lynch, is due to be auctioned in Dublin next month with a guide price of €20,000.

A now run down, listed Georgian house in Charleville, Co Cork is believed to be where Lynch spent her early years. The launch of a book, and the docu-drama film of her life in which Maria Doyle Kennedy played the role of the colourful lady, was attended earlier...
