Pynchon back with a wise-assed whimper
Bleeding Edge by Thomas Pynchon. Jonathan Cape, €16.35. Reviewed by Kevin Power.
Thomas Pynchon's novels are shaggy-dog stories, great jokey excursions into a stoned world of sinister connections and postmodernist bewilderment. In the cartoon reality of Pynchonland (Vineland?), it's no surprise to encounter Alligator Patrols, Godzilla footprints, postal conspiracies and talking clocks.
