Publican, businessman must repay €300k to Danske

A publican and a businessman who said they had forgotten signing a guarantee for a €900,000 bank loan have each been ordered to repay €300,000 to Danske Bank.

A publican and a businessman who said they had forgotten signing a guarantee for a €900,000 bank loan have each been ordered to repay €300,000 to Danske Bank.

The bank - trading as National Irish Bank - applied for judgment for €300,000 plus interest against Jim Cummins and John Brennan, based on a 2007 guarantee. Judgment had already been given against accountant Michael Walsh, who failed to appear.
