Public sector savings have to be found

The unions have voted against Croke Park II, and their decision must be respected. From that decision stem some consequences, to which government must now face up.

So the new Croke Park Agreement has been rejected by the trade unions following a lengthy and tortuous negotiation. The Sunday Business Post recommended acceptance in the national interest, and also in the interest of the public sector workers. But now their decision must be accepted; trying to negotiate and then rerun a tweaked agreement is neither advisable nor practical.
