Pub trade boosted by hot weather
Cooke Publicans are reporting a 10 per cent boost in their business over the last fortnight, due to the warm, dry weather, with the World Cup set to increase profits even further.
According to the Vintners Federation of Ireland (VFI) and the Licensed Vintners Association (LVA), business has been brisk in the last two weeks, with the trend set to rise over the next four weeks for the duration of the World Cup. In addition, some bars are stocking extra Polish, German and Czech beer to cater for the many foreign fans in Ireland who will be watching their home countries compete in the World Cup.
