Health Minister James Reilly has been forced into what the Irish Examiner described this morning as a “humiliating climbdown”.
His plan to cut personal care assistance for the disabled by €10m was scrapped by the the cabinet at its first meeting ahead of the new Dáil term. Minister Reilly has asked the HSE to seek the cuts in travel and subsistence instead.
