Property Tax: Laying out the payment options for homeowners

There are more ways than one to pay up and get the tax out of your hair, writes Emma Kennedy, Personal Finance Correspondent.

You have a range of options for paying the local property tax (LPT). According to Revenue's annual report for 2012, which was published last week, the tax is "easy to pay but difficult to avoid".

You can pay your LPT liability in one single payment or spread your payments in equal instalments between July and the end of the year.

There are no additional transaction charges if you pay your LPT online by debit card, but...
