Property-related loans boost private-sector credit

Property-related lending accounted for 66.6 per cent of private-sector credit in the third quarter of this year, compared with 62.3 per cent the previous year, according to analysis published by the Central Bank of Ireland last week.

Property-related lending accounted for 66.6 per cent of private-sector credit in the third quarter of this year, compared with 62.3 per cent the previous year, according to analysis published by the Central Bank of Ireland last week. The contribution of property-related lending to the annual increase in credit growth rose to 82.1 per cent in the third quarter compared with 71.9 per cent a year previously, the figures reveal.
